New Trans Support Group Launches

By Chad Ratner
chad@gayblade.com

A new, fully inclusive transgender support group has developed to help fill the need for transgender people, and those who care about them, to have a safe place to be heard, to talk, to learn, and to understand. Called “TG Rainbow,” the group meets on the third Friday of every month at the Church of the Foothills, an LGBT-friendly church in Tustin.
TG Rainbow’s principles focus on providing an equal platform for enlightening discourse and helping understand the complexity of transgender issues. “The transgender spectrum is a varied one, from cross-dressers to transitioned transsexuals, or anyone who is a gender non-conformist,” the support group states. “Depending on age and experience, issues will vary greatly. It is important that people of all ages be shown respect. Everyone has a different life journey.”
TG Rainbow does not discriminate in any way against anyone. People from different faiths, gender identities and sexual orientation are welcome — as well as those who do not identify with any religion. Spouses, partners, parents, family members and friends of transgendered people are also encouraged to attend and engage in a friendly and informative exchange of ideas. No subject will be off limits for discussion as long as there is interest among the participants, and the discussion does not degrade members of the group.
The meeting room opens at 7 p.m. for early arrivals, and meetings run from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. Meetings are free but donations are always accepted.
More information about TG Rainbow can be found at www.mach25media.com/tgr.html. For information about Church of the Foothills, call (949) 770-0702.
