True Love Lies through Aug. 14 at Fullerton's Monkey Wrench Collective

Monkey Wrench Collective is proud to present the third show of their first season: the West Coast Premiere of True Love Lies, Canadian playwright Brad Fraser’s hilarious and heart-breaking 2009 sequel to his famed black comedy Unidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love.
Kane and Carolyn have a loving relationship, successful careers and a happy, normal life with their two children. Life couldn’t be more perfect...until David, Kane’s ex, comes back to town. As hidden relationships are revealed and the safe veneer of home begins to splinter, this ruthless comedy will leave you laughing...and wondering about your own family secrets. Please note: This production contains nudity and sexual situations.
Directed by Dave Barton, the play stars Christopher Basile, Anthony Cohen, Sabrina Ianacone, Rick Kopps and Jill Cary Martin. True Love Lies runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights through Aug. 14 at 8 p.m. with all seats $20 general admission and $10 for students. Tickets are available online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/118048 or by calling (800) 838-3006.
Award-winning playwright Brad Fraser has been writing since the age of 17. His plays have been seen worldwide and translated into multiple languages. Some of his major plays include Wolfboy, Poor Super Man, Martin Yesterday, Snake in Fridge and more. His film and television credits include several seasons with the hit series Queer as Folk.
Rounding up the MWC 2010 season: In August, director Eli Simon brings his Clownzilla troupe for the World Premiere of Clownzilla: Illegal Aliens. October is Mark Ravenhill’s controversial, adults-only comedy Shopping & F**king. The US Premiere of Chris Secor’s Jesus is Gay opens in December.
Monkey Wrench Collective is devoted to providing US premieres of the best of European playwrights, West Coast premieres of socially provocative new work and vibrant productions of rarely-performed classics, new and old. For more information, visit monkeywrenchcollective.org.
