Play Ball at the Liberty Classic

The Surf and Sun Softball League will host its annual inter-league tournament, the Liberty Classic, on July 4 and 5.
This is the 25th anniversary of the tournament, which brings in gay and lesbian softball teams from around the country. This year, nearly 1000 players representing 60 or more teams will compete in several divisions during the holiday weekend.
The women’s division will compete at the softball complex in Fountain Valley Regional Park, which is located on Brookhurst between Edinger and Warner. The open division will compete at the Huntington Beach Sports Complex, located on Goldenwest between Ellis and Slater
Local residents are invited to come watch the action and enjoy what is sure to be a beautiful holiday weekend with friends and family. Parking is free at the Fountain Valley fields and is $1 per day at the Huntington Beach Sports Complex. Re-entry is allowed.
Local community bars and clubs will sponsor evening events.
