One Night Stand Up Comes to Long Beach

The talented comedians of AfterEllen.com’s video blogs are coming together for a night filled with laughter at the Center Theater on Saturday, January 30th at 8pm. The show is a presentation of All Out Films and will be taped to air on Logo TV this Spring. The evening will feature five lesbian comedians ranging from seasoned professionals to up-and-comers.
Liz Feldman exited the writing staff of NBC’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2008 after receiving four Emmy awards. In 2009, Feldman developed a half-hour script with Touchstone Television and wrote for Ellen DeGeneres when she hosted the Oscars. She finished the second series of “This Just Out” in July 2009 and has been working on a new series on the website Funny or Die, entitled “Shack Talk.” Feldman also recently released her short film, “My First Time Driving”, and can currently be seen in her recurring role on NBC’s “The Jay Leno Show” as one of Jay’s comedy correspondents.
Gloria Bigelow’s witty and honest brand of humor keeps her audiences laughing, thinking and wanting more. Bigelow, a.k.a. Glo, is one of the stars of the popular vlog on AfterEllen.com, “Cherry Bomb” and was featured in the comedy documentary “Laughing Matters: Next Gen.” She recently performed as a part of the New York Underground Comedy Festival, Michigan Women’s Music Festival, and the 2009 Outlaugh Comedy Festival. A crowd favorite, Bigelow tackles issues of sexuality, race, and gender at the forefront of her work and has become one to watch on the national comedy scene.
Cat Davis may have a sweet Midwestern exterior, but underneath is a wicked comedic spitfire. An up-and-comer on the gay comedy scene, Davis’ stand-up has been featured at the Hollywood Improv, the Laugh Factory, the LA Comedy Festival, and the legendary Ice House Comedy Club in Pasadena. She is also a seasoned improv comedian and performs regularly at Hollywood’s National Comedy Theater in U-cal! and ComedySportz mainstage shows. Equal parts silly and smart, Davis has a style that’s saucy, quick and relentlessly funny.
Recognized for her provocative and unapologetic style, Bridget McManus stars in her own weekly comedy show, “Brunch with Bridget”. She has graced the cover of Curve Magazine’s “America’s Funniest Lesbian” issue, ranking third in their national poll, and won Logo network’s 2008 NewNowNext Award for “Best Lesbian Vlog Ever.” McManus appeared in the Universal feature “Wanted,” guest starred in the WB.com series “Joni & Susanna”, and is one of the leads of the comedy documentary “Laughing Matters: Next Gen.”
Jennie McNulty’s walking talk show, “Jennie McNulty Presents: Walking Funny With…,” featured on AfterEllen.com, combines fitness and fun as she walks and talks with some of the most notorious women on today’s celesbian scene. Take a walk with one of the funniest, most interesting, and talented women from the worlds of comedy and sports. Jennie is a unique voice for physical fitness as a member of professional women’s tackle football team, the California Quake. She was also featured as a physical trainer on the hit NBC Show “Starting Over.”
